From what I read in Motor Factor mag recently the motor trade has problems with fake parts one such being NGK spark plugs.

  • David Billington29 April 2024

Sounds a bit like people I know that have deleted files and still have no space because they've been moved to the recycle bin or whatever it's called on your system. Does it have an equivalent of shift-delete to permanently delete the files.

Maybe it's displaying photos from your Google back-up?

I have a similar problem with Apple. My 'phone will no longer back-up as the storage is full. I have turned off photo back-up, but I can't find any way to delete the photos from the 'cloud', despite not wanting them there in the first place.

  • GuyW29 April 2024

On the record of past performance on the BBS that the collective knowledge here is infinite, I hope someone can help with this!

Google acts as a backup for my phone, but keeps telling me the backup facility is 99.8% full (15Gb) and I will not get any more emails (this, despite not using a gmail account?) They want me to pay a fee for more storage which I dont want.

    So my plan is:...

    Blimey indeed.

" -- filled the intercooler up with engine oil and the engine had sucked it up and was running on the oil--- ""

Ask Graham about engines running on oil. My friend met him a the Angel pub yesterday, and we discussed/reminisced about that very thing.

You might recall our posts on engine breather/oil sucking. Goldilocks moment on some 1275 engines, they imbib...

    Les,

The lower inner fulcrum pins can be done up tight but still have wear in the large washers and the holes in the chassis webs, a pry bar between wishbone and chassis would help detect if there is any.

  • Les Rose29 April 2024

Thanks guys. Inner wishbone bushes are tight, nothing moving there. Antiroll bar mountings and links are all good. I'll have yet another look at the outer fulcrums.

  • David Billington29 April 2024

I was thinking the inner lower fulcrums can be a problem with the larger washers and the holes they fit in wearing, worth checking anyway.

  • richard b29 April 2024

    Les,

My Cousin years ago had similar on his MGB- I know the suspension is different but we only found the cause when I overhauled the Left front suspension for other reasons.
The bottom wishbone is made up of two pressed arms and the inner one had an elongated hole where the through bolt passed through holding the stub axle in position.
Only moved when going from ahead to reverse ...

No further work needed as far as my friend knows. Just clean it up on a sunny day maybe.

    Richard
Blimey, just as well it wasn't a "smart" motorway. Even on a "proper" hard shoulder, it's a scary place to be.
