FWIW, my two cents. If a bearing is even remotely suspect (rattly and stiff spots) it's junk. Replacement bearings are cheaper than knackered shafts and bearing housings.
You're doing the right thing replacing them. These bearings are quite heavily loaded. And always replace in pairs.

Tom. I am not sure what a "P.D.W.A." is. But, from the description of the problem believe that you are posting about the 75 and later dual master cylinder.

Yes, when the shuttle on the left hand side of the main body of the master cylinder shifts frontwards or rearwards, the small pin on the brake system failure switch rises upwards and blocks the shuttle from moving until the switch is ...

Reply from John, today, May 20th:

    Hello Bud,
I now have the gasket kits back in stock.
    The cost is 17.00.
Im afraid that the postage is expensive.
The cost by Royal Mail International Standard service is 23.50.
A less expensive service by Royal Mail Economy service is 11.65, but as it goes by surface mail, it takes around 6 weeks.
Please let me know what you think.

Just a quick update : sent the 48D4 to a distributor specialist in Victoria; he confirmed that the Lucas unit, springs, weights, shaft etc are all perfect. The Accuspark module apparently had too large a gap between it and the magnetic ring; a new unit was fitted and bench tested perfect. SO - I'll refit distributor, new coil and leads and set up the timing along the lines of Willy (above), and th...

Whilst replacing the diff pinion oil seal I noticed one of the rear wheel bearings had a stiff spot. I removed it and cleaned it with boiling water and a dish washer tablet (in an old pan not the dishwasher). I have found this gets bearings perfectly clean and they dry almost immediately. After a spray of WD40 I could still feel the tight spot and the bearing rattled when shaken. The one from the ...

My understanding is that the unboosted dual systems need to be centralised after bleeding by redoing the opposite side to the last one done until the light just goes out. For boosted dual systems partially unscrew the switch and that allows the shuttle to self-centralise during bleeding.

Does the shuttle block the flow to the side that has lost pressure? If so I don't know how you would...

    True Arie. My own fault, but without a battery , , , , ☹️

And led astray by a pretty little thing in pale blue.
